Preparation

Before a session
  • Try not to eat a heavy meal 2–3 hours before your session.
  • Avoid alcohol, drugs, and excessive caffeine.
  • Wear something comfortable and easy to move in.
  • Turn off your phone or put it on silent.
  • Arrive a little early to ground yourself and ease into the space.
Contra-indications
  • Use of antidepressants, antipsychotics, blood thinners, or heart medication.
  • Cardiovascular conditions or high blood pressure.
  • Epilepsy or severe neurological disorders.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Severe psychiatric conditions (such as psychosis or trauma-related disorders.)

After-care
  • Stay hydrated with water or herbal tea to help your body release and cleanse.
  • Allow yourself rest, stillness, and time alone.
  • Avoid alcohol, drugs, and overstimulation for the rest of the day.
  • Journal, draw, or walk in nature to integrate your experience.
  • Trust your body’s rhythm, move gently, and give yourself what you need.
